Gavalas Panos

He was born in Vatrachonisi, which is known today as the district of Athens Mets. His father was from Folegandros and his mother from Ikaria. As a child he first played the accordion with the scouts and later with the Hawaiian with which he sang. During the occupation he joined ELAS.

He sang well-known songs such as: “Siko up kate kate”, “Sto stavrodromi”, “De me ponas”, “Fyge ki ase me”, “Pire fotia mia kardia”, “Ase me pia”, “Laiko tsa-cha”, “Every port and misery”, “Dream tied”, “The Gulls”, “If you want to leave, leave”, “My sweet tyrant”, “I am an old boy”. He founded the record company “Sonata”.
