Biography

Kollias Costas

Costas Kollias was born in 1945 in Kalivia, Attica. With his first record “If I lose you if”, in 1976, he caused a sensation, mainly with his authentic folk voice.

This was followed by the LP “The hearts that love”. The big “bang”, however, came in 1980 with “my love is healed” by Takis Soukas – Iraklis Papasideris, who launched his career. Everyone then spoke in flattering words about the young, rapidly rising singer. Costas Kollias had started recording his new songs. Unfortunately, he did not have time to complete his work, as he was killed on June 4, 1980, in a car accident on the Lagonisi-Kalivia road. He had managed to record six exceptional songs, to music by Antonis Repanis, which were included, along with six others, performed by Elena Kosti, on the album entitled “My last songs. And yet I like it “.
Perhaps the lyrics of K. Kaplanoglou “… from the borders of life I will leave today …”, from the song “You threw oil on the fire”, which is included in this album, were prophetic.
